Kelly is proud to serve on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee and the House Committee on Small Business.
House Veterans’ Affairs Committee
Kelly’s family has a long history of military service. Her husband is an Army combat veteran, her father-in-law was an Airborne Ranger who received a Purple Heart and Silver Star for his brave service, and both her father and grandfathers are veterans. As a practicing physician for more than 20 years, Kelly also spent the beginning of her career caring for veterans at a VA hospital. Minnesota’s Third District is home to nearly 28,000 veterans. Our veterans have sacrificed so much for our country, and Kelly believes it is our duty to ensure we are providing the resources they need and deserve.
Kelly is a member of the Subcommittee on Health and the Subcommittee on Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs.
House Committee on Small Business
Small businesses are the backbone of our economy: they account for half of our gross domestic product, more than half our jobs, and three-fourths of new jobs created each year. There are more than half a million small businesses in Minnesota, and the Third District is home to many of them. Kelly is committed to working with both Democrats and Republicans to find common ground and get things done for small business owners.
Kelly is the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Rural Development, Energy, and Supply Chains and a member of the Subcommittee on Contracting and Infrastructure.
