WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Kelly Morrison (MN-03) joined her colleagues in cosponsoring the West Bank Violence Prevention Act.
The West Bank Violence Prevention Act authorizes targeted sanctions against individuals and entities responsible for violence in the West Bank that threatens regional stability, endangers U.S. national security, and undermines prospects for a two-state solution by committing illegal violent acts.
Violent settlers in the West Bank have increasingly perpetrated violent acts against civilians and property. This legislation seeks to provide the United States with critical tools to hold perpetrators of violence accountable, including sanctions, such as visa bans and asset freezes, for those engaged in or supporting acts of violence targeting civilians.
Supporting this legislation is essential not only for addressing immediate security concerns, but also for advancing a long-term vision for peace.
