U.S. Rep. Kelly Morrison Statement on President Trump’s Joint Address to Congress

Tonight, U.S. Representative Kelly Morrison (MN-03) released the following statement on President Trump’s Joint Address to Congress:

“Actions speak louder than words. Let’s look at the facts. Since coming into office, President Trump and the Republican majority in Congress have not done a single thing to lower costs for American families. Instead, they are selling out the American people to pay for tax cuts for billionaires. They are gutting health care coverage for kids, new moms, and grandparents in nursing homes, slashing funding for medical research and lifesaving treatments, firing more veterans than any administration in history, and starting trade wars that are certain to raise prices on everything from food, to cell phones and laptops to cars.

“Minnesotans deserve better. I will continue fighting every day to lower costs, protect access to lifesaving care, advocate for our veterans, support our small businesses, and defend our democracy and the Constitution. We will continue to hold Donald Trump and his Republican majority accountable, and do everything we can to deliver for Minnesotans.”
