“What happened in our district today was a horrific act of targeted political violence. 
“I am devastated by the heinous assassination of my dear friend and former colleague Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark. She was truly the best of us: a dedicated public servant, a selfless leader, and a passionate advocate for all Minnesotans.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Today, U.S. Representative Kelly Morrison (MN-03) joined Rep. Chris Pappas (NH-01) and half a dozen small business owners from across the country to introduce the Small Business Liberation Act, which would exempt the more than 34 million U.S. small businesses from President Trump’s catastrophically high tariffs enacted on April 2, 2025.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Kelly Morrison (MN-03) introduced the Allergen Disclosure in Non-Food Articles (ADINA) Act, which would require pharmaceutical companies to clearly label common allergens present in medications. 
The ADINA Act is named after Minnesota’s Third District constituent Adina, who suffered a severe allergy attack due to an unlabeled allergen in an antibiotic. Adina, who recovered and is now entering high school, brought her concerns to the U.S.

Rep. Morrison questions Small Business Administrator Loeffler
June 4, 2025

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Kelly Morrison (MN-03) questioned the United States Administrator of the Small Business Administration Kelly Loeffler at a hearing of the U.S. House Committee on Small Business. 

During her questioning, Rep. Morrison pressed Administrator Loeffler to support tariff exemptions for small businesses. Administrator Loeffler refused to commit her support.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Kelly Morrison (MN-03) introduced the Justice for America’s Veterans and Survivors Act, which will require the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to document and publish veterans' cause of death, their disabilities accrued during service, and whether their death was related to suicide or that disability. Better data collection and documentation will lead to better understanding of veterans’ mental health and improved suicide prevention.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, as the U.S. House of Representatives Rules Committee debated the Republicans’ budget, U.S. Representative Kelly Morrison (MN-03) introduced an amendment proposing that Republicans’ proposed cuts to Medicaid cannot take effect until an independent study confirms they will not result in hospital closures or reductions in services.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Kelly Morrison (MN-03) spoke on the House floor in opposition of Congressional Republicans’ proposal to open the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness to toxic sulfide-ore copper mining.

Congressional Republicans tucked a provision into their budget proposal that would allow toxic sulfide-ore copper mining in the headwaters of the Boundary Waters, which has never been done in Minnesota before and would permanently damage and pollute Minnesota’s pristine wilderness area.
